The Forestry industry is a significant contributor to the economy and a major catalyst for development, empowerment and the upliftment of the people living in rural areas. Sustainable, well managed and well empowered contracting business are vital to ensure that the industry remains competitive on an international scale. During the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Forestry was one of the listed essential services to continue to work under the stage 5 lockdown regulations.

OUR COMMITMENT

BBBEE, Employment & CSI

SC Forestry Contractors has a level one BBBEE rating with having 50% shares owned by a black male and the other 50% shares owned by a black youth male. The company employs the majority of its staff from the surrounding communities that are in close proximity to Sappi operations in Richmond. The company has created 120 direct employment for five years. The business will continue to participate in the Social upliftment on the communities by investing in CSI projects that benefit the larger population in the areas where the business operates in. The business has to date donated full school uniform for 10 kids from Einsiedeln Combined School.
